Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 30, 2013

Its been three long years since John Mayer has been able to belt out the blues. But, much to the relief of all concerned, the Grammy Award-winning singer is back, booking a 40-date tour.

Mayer has been suffering from vocal problems caused by the stress on his voice from constant touring and performing. After two surgeries, he has been receiving treatment from Dr. Steven Zeitels, the same laryngeal expert Adele recently thanked at the Grammys for helping her. Mayer is now thankful to be able to sing again too.

The blues rockers latest three month road trip is in support of his 2012 Born and Raised album, which topped the Billboard 200. American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will open on the majority of the dates.

After opening at SummerFest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 6, Mayer will appear at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Missouri on July 7; the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 9; the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Springs, Texas on July 12; the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, Texas on July 13.

Mayer rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on July 16; Sleep Country Amphitheatre in Ridgefield, Washington on July 19; and the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Washington on July 20.

After a series of gigs in California, the tour stops in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Canada, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, and Phoenix. The wrap is set for the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California on October 5, 2013.

John Mayer has an extremely loyal following. His recovery is especially welcome, as weve seen other singers such as Lady Gaga and Morrissey have similar issues, causing them to cancel their tours recently, said Felina Martinez at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com. Just as with his past tours, it is expected that all of John Mayers concerts will sell out.

Thats why were proud to offer fans the most complete and continually refreshed selection of concert tickets available online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase, said Martinez.

In September 2011, Mayer posted on his blog that his new record, Born and Raised, was being delayed due to granulomas discovered in his throat. The granulomas were found next to the vocal cords and were said to be treatable.

Mayer had surgery in October of 2011 and released the first single from his Born and Raised album in February of 2012. Then in March, he announced that hed had another setback and was forced to cancel his tour and refrain from all singing indefinitely.

After a second surgery in August 2012, he began appearing again despite not being able to sing. As an accomplished guitarist as well as a singer-songwriter, he played several high-profile stand-in gigs including Saturday Night Live, and joined the Rolling Stones on stage at their concert in New Jersey in December.

Last January, Mayer returned to do a benefit concert in Bozeman, Montana. He is also scheduled to tune up for his tour by performing at the Crossroads Guitar Festival, the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival before his tour begins.

Mayer has won seven Grammys from 19 nominations. He has sold over ten million albums in the U.S. and over 20 million albums worldwide. His other pursuits include stand-up comedy, graphic design and writing. The singer is also active in charity work and various environmental causes. (Source: Wikipedia.com)
