Returning for her second season on ‘American Idol,’ Kara DioGuardi seems primed to be more grounded than last season, when it took time for the chemistry between her and the other judges — especially Simon Cowell, naturally — to be accepted by viewers.
For Season 9, of course, DioGuardi doesn’t have to compete with Paula Abdul anymore for the title of ditzy-singer-songwriter — actually in fact, compared to Abdul, whose antics were as endearing as they were wearying, DioGuardi isn’t ditzy at all.
