PHOTOS of American Idol season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee at the New Image Youth Center in Orlando, Fl, on Wednesday, July 7th, Katherine attended the Centre on behalf of ConAgra Foods Hunger-Free Summer campaign and she spent the day as a volunteer and performing with local children.

Seventeen million children struggle with hunger during the summer when they’re out of school and Katherine, who has been a member of Feeding America’s Entertainment Council of celebrity supporters for almost a year, has teamed up with up with ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America to help fund 10,000 meals for hungry kids this summer.

In addition to the trip to Orlando, Katharine will also be travelling across the country to numerous other Feeding America food banks where she will continue to volunteer her time and  raise awareness about this important issue.
