At this point, no one needs to refer to Crystal Bowersox as American Idol Season 9 runner-up any longer. She’s become a recognizable artist unto her own, and the 25-year-old singer-songwriter proved it when she offered up an impressive acoustic set at our Pray For Pop showcase at the annual South By Southwest music festival in Austin, TX (while husband Brian Walker , a fellow musician, stood proudly front and center in the audience). Mama Sox belted out stripped-down renditions of songs from her debut LP Farmer’s Daugher , which you can watch in our exclusive videos after the jump! “Finally Got It Right” “ Mine All Mine” “Kiss Ya” On stage, Crystal was an elegant pop force with her guitar. But backstage she was quite the “badass,” as you can see in these behind-the-scenes photos shot by our friends at PureVolume

Idolator held its inaugural SXSW Pray For Pop party last night, and with the help of some of our favorite artists we showed Austin a rockin’ time. The six hour shindig included some sweet covers from Crystal Bowersox (Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”) and Neon Hitch (White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army”). “Sure Thing” Miguel didn’t just perform, he joined the audience when Eliza Doolittle took the stage. And, of course, Oh Land brought her famous white balloons for her set.

Crystal Bowersox filmed something with B.B. King in Las Vegas a while ago, but we did not know what it was until today. The Season 9 Idol runner-up and blues legend are starring together in a campaign for a diabetes product that measures blood sugar called

We’re headed to Texas, y’all! Idolator and BuzzMedia will be two-stepping to Austin later this month to join up with the music faithful at South By Southwest, Austin’s annual movie, music and tech fest. Idolator’s official Pray For Pop party goes down from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 at The PureVolume House on 5th and Trinity Street. And what’s a party without some live music?

Crystal Bowersox was sitting in the audience of the Grand Ole Opry on Friday, when, in a surprise move, Vince Gill called her up onto the stage to sing! Nobody could have been more surprised than Crystal. She tweeted, “Crazy thing.. I didn’t expect this for a second tonight…” Listen to her performance after the jump.

Crystal Bowersox performed a set for Kink radio in Portland OR today. Watch her performances and interview after the jump. She sang “For What it’s Worth”, “Mine All Mine”, “Farmer’s Daughter” and “Arlene”. The videos were filmed by the station and are very high quality, so don’t miss… Video after the JUMP… For What It’s Worth Mine All

Crystal Bowersox sang a special bonus song, “Numb,” when she stopped by the Ladies Home Journal offices for a special acoustic performance of a few songs from her debut album, Farmer’s Daughter. I like this one. What do you think?

American Idol alums Crystal Bowersox and Jordin Sparks attended and Lea Michele, Darren Criss and Matthew Morrison performed at the Musicares Person of the Year Tribute to Barbra Streisand, part of the Grammy weekend events.
