didi benami

There were a few uncomfortable moments when Didi Benami sat down with Ellen Degeneres on the Idol judge’s talk show to discuss her Idol experience. When Didi says out loud that she wished the judges had saved her, it took a few secs for Ellen to gather her thoughts. Awkward! After the interview, Didi performed a sweet rendition of the Kara Dioguardi -penned tune, “Terrified”.

Didi Benami dropped by the  Late Show with David Letterman today to sing the Kara Dioguardi -penned tune, “Terrified” with Paul Shaffer and the band, and chat with Dave. After watching the show last week, Letterman is a little peeved with Ryan Seacrest and annoyed that they made Didi sing for her life. Plus he wants to know if her career in show business is over (Yes, Dave will ask every contestant that question. Watch for it).

For the fourth time in three years, the ever popular Lennon-McCartney night returns to hopefully weed out the weak rather than reward them (you listening, Tim Urban?). Will Siobhan Magnus recover from last week's screechy opening number? Will Katie Stevens avoid the Bottom Three for a change?

Didi Benami Visits the If I Can Dream House

by American Idol Blog on April 6, 2010

Didi Benami visited the If I Can Dream house Friday night to hang out with the “dreamers”. New castmate, Alex Lambert was there, and it was interesting to learn that the boys and girls in the Top 24 had very little contact with each other during the semi-final rounds. Didi and Alex don’t know each other very well. Didi says she fought through some of her own vocal issues, and Alex recounts throwing up due to nerves just minutes before one of his live performances.

While you were off searching for colored eggs, OD'ing on matzah or playing with your new iPad, here's what happened in “Idol”-land: “Beautiful” Adam: Paper magazine has included Adam Lambert on its Beautiful People 2010 list. “The folks we brought together in this issue are a purposefully diverse, eclectic and slightly off-kilter batch,” note the editors, by way of introducing this year's roster. “These are the people we’re obsessed with right now. We think you should be, too.” Paper calls Lambert “the splashiest singer to ever lose on 'American Idol,'” but Lambert says he's really not as controversial as he's made out to be.

Check out this pre-Idol song from eliminated American Idol contestant, Didi Benami , called “Sweet Rain”. The song is produced by Rocco Guarino who co-wrote it with Didi, and also did some stuff for S7 Idol, Amanda Overmyer . Check it out HERE .

The latest eliminated contestant, L.A. transplant Didi Benami, made the press rounds this morning and sounded surprisingly upbeat for someone who'd gotten little sleep and was still coming to terms with her “Idol” ouster. Interestingly enough, Didi said the tough times she's weathered trying to make it in our fair city helped prepare her for this sort of rejection. “Like a lot of my L.A.

Exit Interview: Didi Benami

by Tom on April 1, 2010

Filed under: Interviews Well, at least she got a chance to win the Judges’ Save vote. Of course, they still sent her packing, but Didi Benami — who’d earned a reputation for being a bit weepy during recent weeks on ‘American Idol’ — seemed perfectly cheery today in the weekly post-’AI’ elimination conference call. Perhaps it has something to do with not having to live in her car anymore …

Eliminated Idol contestant, Didi Benami , spoke with reporters in a conference call earlier today. She talked about making her way in cut-throat LA the past 4 years (she lived in her car for awhile, handling tough criticism (including Kara telling her she lost her way), the uncomfortable moment with Ryan Seacrest (“I did what I felt was in my best interest”),  and her close relationship with Siobhan Magnus and Crystal Bowersox (Didi will get to see the cast again on Saturday.) Also, I’m posting FOX interviews, at the end of the post. (Good Day Philly, Good Day LA, FOX Tampa) Was she prepared for the scrutiny she got on the show? “Actually, I wasn’t prepared for that.

Didi Benami – American Idol Castoff

by Lucy on April 1, 2010

Did America get it right by eliminating American Idol contestant Didi Benami? Truly I believe they did. Didi struggled the most with her performance last night and although talented, just didn’t seem to find her groove in the competition. Tim Urban and Katie Stevens rounded out the bottom three this week.
