Russell Brand appeared on Ellen DeGeneres ‘ daytime talk show this morning, and in between promoting his new movie Rock Of Ages and making Ellen squirm by commenting on current events like the breastfeeding TIME cover , the comedian spoke fondly of his ex-wife, Katy Perry . “I love her as a human being, but sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything… I was very happy to be married to her, she’s such a beautiful human being, and I only have love and positivity for her.” Nice to see Russell remaining a gent after such a public breakup. Making us love him even more was his bonding session with Ellen’s co-hosts (basically, at this point) Sophia Grace and Rosie , who hail from the same town as Brand. Jennifer Lopez has got the power. The singer, dancer, fashionista and reality show judge has topped Forbes ‘ annual Celebrity 100 list , unseating last year’s power player, Lady Gaga . Though many other entertainers raked in more money than her — runner-up Oprah Winfrey boasts earnings of $165 million, triple of Lopez’s $52 million — Forbes compiled their rankings by looking at other factors, such as social media; TV, film and radio presence; endorsement deals; and branding. And boy, does J.Lo have a whole lot of that. Now that Jenny is pretty much owning the block, does she even need her American Idol gig anymore

Bobby Brown has followed up his sitdown with Matt Lauer on the Today Show with the news that The Masterpiece , his first album in 15 years, will arrive this summer. Naturally, this provides a great opportunity for other talks shows to invite Brown on to talk about his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston . For instance, Bobby chatted with Ellen DeGeneres today about the fact that he chose to go on with a scheduled New Edition gig in Mississippi upon finding out about Whitney’s death in February .

It was only a few years ago when John Mayer ‘s presence was unavoidable, as the singer-songwriter-lothario appeared on the cover of countless gossip magazines, spoke one-on-one way too much with TMZ , or provided inappropriate and ungentlemanly soundbites in interviews . Nowadays, Mayer keeps himself hidden away in Montana, and only rarely surfaces for interviews — like this morning on The Ellen Show , where he discussed finally growing up. ”It was a very strange time and it sort of rocketed me into adulthood,” Mayer tells Ellen DeGeneres . “It was a violent crash into being an adult.” The “Shadow Days” singer makes note of the “dumb interviews” (such as the infamous Rolling Stone and Playboy interviews) he gave before his self-imposed hiatus.

Ellen DeGeneres orchestrated yet another get-together on her talk show for Nicki Minaj and her pint-sized fans from across the pond Sophia Grace Brownlee and her cousin Rosie McClelland. While Sophia Grace wasn’t quite sure how many tutus she owns (“Eleven — no, a hundred! There’s so many!”), she was able to impress Nicki with her American accent. In turn, Nicki dispensed some valuable advice about wearing the color pink to the girls, and then gifted them with tickets to her Wango Tango gig in Los Angeles this Saturday. Here’s our question: do these two ever go to school?

The last time “Good Girl” Carrie Underwood hit up The Ellen DeGeneres Show , she made headlines for branding her husband, Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher, a “hoarder.” And while back on the show today to promote the release of her new album Blown Away , Underwood joked about the aftermath of her last visit: “I might have gotten into a wee bit of trouble.” But lest anyone think her next album is going to be packed with sad songs about divorce, Carrie explained that things have gotten better — and less cluttered — in her household. “I had my closet full of my stuff and he has his stuff,” she told Ellen . “Now we share.

Nicki Minaj ‘s bikinified “Starships” video is set to premiere this evening, and what better way to hype up the event than for Ellen DeGeneres to invite budding starlets Sophia Grace and Rosie back on her show for a performance? The two pint-sized Brits turned on the charm, as Sophia Grace belted out a G-rated verse from Nicki’s hit while Rosie busted some of her signature moves. Then the two both broke into “the running man” dance during the breakdown.
