The eliminated Top 20 contestants, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delimore, John Park and Haeley Vaughn were available this afternoon for satellite interviews with the press. Check out some choice quotes below. And keep checking back, I’ll be putting up each interview as I finish them…. UPDATE : Michelle Delamore’s interview, after the jump… Jermaine Sellers was terrified about what the judges were going to say each time he took the stage.

Haeley Vaughn is only 16, the first of three high-schoolers in the Top 24. Time for another Beatles song, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.” Wow, she can scream. Man, I’m not sure what’s going on with this — it seems like her timing is completely off. Oh no, Haeley.
The women, or should I say girls, look like they raided their mommies’ closets on Tuesday night’s “American Idol.” They looked like they were playing dress-up! While Idol is a singing competition, no one can argue that a contestant’s look is a factor as well. And since that is the case, each individual needs to find their own unique style. But, each person should dress their age, be appropriate. I thought many of the women looked great; Ashley Rodriguez (sorry to see her go!) and Lilly Scott come to mind

One of the many thoughts in my head after watching American Idol last night: wasn’t that a bit of a throwback to Beatles week in the seventh season? They even put the Beatles performances–Lilly Scott’s, Katelyn Epperly’s and Haeley Vaughn’s–together! Now, I’m in the middle of rediscovering the Beatles, especially since their whole back catalogue was just reissued (and with better sound, I must add), so I was a little anxious how this would pan out. But I’m glad to say the three performances gave justice to the songs they chose, albeit with varying degrees.
Auditions ended last night for the ninth season of American Idol, and the judges remaining picks for the Top 24 semifinalists were revealed. The Top 24 semifinalists are: (females) Didi Benami , Crystal Bowersox , Lacey Brown , Michelle Delamor , Katelyn Epperly , Siobhan Magnus , Paige Miles , Ashley Rodriguez , Lilly Scott , Katie Stevens , Haeley Vaughn and Janell Wheeler ; (males) Lee Dewyze , Andrew Garcia , Tyler Grady , Todrick Hall , Casey James ,
I hate being manipulated. No, I mean it, I really, really hate being manipulated. So why oh why do I continue watching this show? The producers, or whomever hands them their material, are masters at manipulation! Manipulating the audience, and manipulating the poor competitors, it doesn’t matter, all’s fair in love and war and “American Idol.” Poor Angela Martin ! To be told she was going home, on her third and final try, in such a condescending manner, with Kara DioGuardi sitting with her arm around her, in that rickety folding chair – what, the big comfy chair didn’t work for the camera angle?
After weeks of determined but mostly delusional auditioners, the final judgment is upon us as Season 9's Top 24 are officially announced. Yesterday's episode rolled out seven contenders. Tonight, we learned the identities of the other 17. Read on for the full list..

Filed under: Hot Topics Born two months premature and weighing only two pounds, Haeley Vaughn considers it a miracle that she’s alive at all. Smiling the whole time at her ‘American Idol’ Denver audition, her dream is to be the first black pop country mainstream singer. She got off to a good start with a very down home sound on former ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood’s ‘Last Name.’ Simon Cowell was enamored with her right away.
