Siobhan Magnus is back home on Cape Cod, where the local newspaper, the Cape Cod Times caught up with her. Siobhan shares her thoughts about the competition, what was going through her head when she was eliminated, and her whirlwind media tour afterward. Plus, Siobhan talks fashion–she didn’t begin putting her wildly imaginative ensembles until after she chose her song for the week. Check out the video interview after the jump

Oh, Siobhan—we’re still reeling from the impact of you being voted off American Idol last week. True, you weren’t up to scratch in recent episodes, but little did we realize the void you’d cause when you said goodbye. Sigh . (And do we think we’ll feel the same way about Aaron Kelly

During her “American Idol” run, Siobhan Magnus had a reputation for octave-defying notes and unapologetic retorts. As we got to know the Barnstable, Mass., native, we also learned of her love of horror movies, Hole and Hanson, but there's much more to this sixth-place finisher than meets the eye … or ear, or nose.

Siobhan Magnus visited the Wendy Williams Show today, and chatted with Wendy about the unusual spelling of her name, being compared to Adam Lambert , and putting together her unusual outfits. Wendy regular, Nick Mitchell , asked Siobhan from his spot in the audience, about her job as a glass blower. After, Siobhan sang “Summertime” and it was a little pitchy, not gonna lie (The look on Wendy’s face when the camera panned over to her was pretty lulzy). Video after the JUMP…

Siobhan Magnus sang “Paint It Black” on “Late Show With David Letterman” on Monday night, and she probably painted herself a whole lot of new fans in the process. She certainly seemed to make a fan of Letterman, who initially seemed oddly focused on Magnus' patterned tights. “Are those …? Th-th-that's …

Siobhan Magnus dropped by the Late Show with David Letterman today, where she regaled a smitten Letterman with tales of her glass blowing days in Marston Mills, Ma. David was so impressed with Siobhan, that after the break, he basically said she should have won, and intimated that all the Idols that came before her were really really dull . After their chat Siobhan sang “Paint it Black”, finishing the song with the BIG NOTE.

:: More Idols head to Broadway—Jordin Sparks will appear in Tony-winning musical In The Heights for a 12-week run. Why doesn’t American Idol just tape in New York so contestants can go straight from the show directly into a Broadway theatre? [ Just Jared ] :: Do you want Lee DeWyze to be your next American Idol? Take a listen to his pre- Idol tunes and judge whether or not Lee’s got the chutzpah to be a successful recording artist. (He does a Marilyn Manson cover, which would be perfect for a Goth/Metal theme week.) [ Top Idol ] :: Siobhan Magnus was planning on singing the Sid Vicious version of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” for this week’s Sinatra theme

Shirley Halperin posted her report from Siobhan Magnus’ visit to the If I Can Dream House Friday night. Shirley had dinner with the gang, and you can read her report, which included a transcript of the twitter Q&A right HERE . A couple of very interesting tidbits: On why Teen Idol week mysteriously morphed into “Billboard #1 Hits” Siobhan also r evealed what happened with the ill-fated “teen Idols” episode. It turned out the list of optional songs were so poor, she said, that too many Idols were picking too similar songs by the same artists.

My favs this week: Lee Dewyze , Michael Lynche , Casey James and Crystal Bowersox . I could have done without the cheesy background vocals on some of the numbers (Casey especially) What say you? Check out the You Tubes and let us know what you think! iTunes American Idol HERE . Lee DeWyze – “You’re Still The One” – Once again, I totally *heart* Lee’s recorded performance. His live performances are pitchy and tentative, but his recorded versions are assured and beautifully sung. – Audio – Video – You Tube Michael Lynche – “It Only Hurts When I ‘m Breathing” – Wow. This is a very pretty and heartfelt rendition of this song. I totally get why Michael made Shania so verklempt when he sang it to her. – Audio – Video – You Tube Casey James – “Don’t” – The country side of Casey is out in full force here, and I like it a lot. Great vocal from Casey! – Audio – Video – You Tube Crystal Bowersox – “No One Needs to Know” – Whimsical, fun and -a truly poor pick for a live performance. There was no way this tune was going to create a “moment” for Crystal on the Idol stage.
